My photojournalism background is built for exactly this. A networking event has a rhythm: setup and arrivals, a slow first half hour, the peak when the room gets loud, a short program, and the late conversations that run long. I cover all of it, including the venue details before doors open, name tags and signage, and the welcome remarks.

At EVERFI's Impact in Action happy hour at The Hampton Social in Denver's Highlands, that meant the venue setup, the networking hour, and the speaker program. At a summer intern networking event at the University of Denver, it meant a welcome address delivered in the round and the candid moments that only happen once the room stops noticing the camera.

Denver's best networking rooms are bars, distilleries, rooftops, and bright event spaces, and they photograph very differently. The Hampton Social is daylight and white tablecloths. Stranahan's Distillery is copper stills and barrel-stacked ceilings, warm and dark. A campus venue like DU's can have floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Front Range.

I adapt to each room and shoot in available light wherever possible, so the photos look like the room felt instead of a flash-lit snapshot. The goal is the same everywhere: people connecting, in a place worth showing up to.

Most happy hours and mixers peak in the first two hours, so the 2-hour package at $800 covers arrivals, the busiest stretch, and the program for most events.
