Event Photography: Aurora Community College’s Annual Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency
As a local event photographer in Aurora and Denver, Colorado, I get to see a lot of amazing events—but the Aurora Community College Annual Luncheon is always one of my favorites. Held at the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center, this special day brings together over 400 guests to celebrate, connect, and support a great cause. The event kicks off with people arriving, chatting, and getting their photo taken with the school’s mascot. It’s a great chance to grab some fun, relaxed shots as everyone settles in. The ballroom is big and bright, with colorful lights and high ceilings, making it a beautiful space to photograph.
Once everyone is seated for lunch, the program begins. There are inspiring speeches from students and community leaders, along with awards and lots of heartfelt moments. As a photographer, I love capturing the smiles, the clapping, and those little in-between moments that really tell the story of the day. The most exciting part is the paddle raise—the college’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Guests hold up their cards to show how much they’d like to donate. It’s powerful to watch. Donations came in anywhere from $50 to $10,000, and by the end, the total raised was $330,000! All that money will go toward scholarships, student resources, and tools that help students succeed.
Events like this remind me why I love being a photographer. If you're planning a community event, school fundraiser, or corporate luncheon in the Aurora or Denver area, and you want a photographer who knows how to capture real, meaningful moments—I’d be honored to help. Let’s make your next event unforgettable—one photo at a time.
