Capturing the Denver Broncos Holiday Party at Empower Field at Mile High
When photographing a corporate holiday party, it’s always important to arrive before guests to capture images of the event space. So much time, effort, and creativity go into the details, from décor and lighting to layouts and branded elements, and documenting those details is incredibly valuable for companies. These images are often used for internal marketing, future event inspiration, and company culture content.
As a Denver event photographer, I make sure to photograph the space from multiple perspectives, including wide shots of the room, medium images, and close-up detail photos. I also capture both horizontal and vertical images, which gives clients flexibility for website layouts, social media, presentations, and marketing materials.
Denver Broncos Holiday Party at Empower Field at Mile High
I had the opportunity to photograph the Denver Broncos Holiday Party at Empower Field at Mile High, and it was an incredible event. The evening featured a wide range of activities, including interactive games, live dance performances, photobooths, a dance floor with a live band, a cigar lounge, a champagne tower, and a speakeasy. The theme was The Great Gatsby, and the staff looked amazing—everyone was dressed impeccably, which elevated the entire atmosphere of the event.
I began the night by photographing guests as they arrived. These were posed portraits of staff members with their plus ones, captured against a beautifully lit background filled with event lighting and décor. Arrival portraits are a great way to start an event, especially while the room is still filling, and they give guests a polished image they can use and enjoy.
Capturing Candid Moments and Event Energy
As the venue filled up, I transitioned into capturing a mix of candid moments and posed group photos. I always aim for a balance of both—posed images are great for documentation, while candids showcase the authentic energy of the event. I love being a fly on the wall, catching genuine moments of coworkers laughing, talking, and enjoying themselves.
If guests ever ask for a photo, I’m always happy to take one. Those interactions often lead to some of the most meaningful images of the night.
Staying Organized During a Corporate Event
During large corporate events, timing is everything. I make it a priority to communicate with other vendors to stay aware of scheduled moments, such as the champagne pour and live flapper dance performances, so nothing important is missed. Collaboration with event planners and vendors ensures full coverage of the experience.
Another important part of corporate event photography is knowing who the VIPs and key members of the organization are. I make sure to photograph leadership and executives, while also capturing a wide variety of guests throughout the evening so the final gallery reflects the entire company.
Why I Love Photographing Holiday Parties
Holiday parties are some of my favorite events to photograph because they give coworkers the chance to come together, relax, and celebrate outside of the workplace. As a Denver corporate event photographer, my goal is to document not just what the event looked like, but how it felt—the connections, the laughter, and the moments that make company culture come to life.
